Homebound
This is a scene which I painted from my mind's eye. The inspiration is from a trip I made to Chitradurga recently. Chitradurga is beautiful place with lot of greenery around. I did not like the way I painted the tree. I did this around a month ago, and I took time to like it, that is why the delay to post it. And also I had been neglecting my blog off late and also I have not been going around the other blogs. I had been really busy with work. And of course the recent terror attack also has dampened the spirit a lot.

DUSK
This is a usual scene you can see when you travel through Kerala by train. I love to see the silhouette during the late evenings and very early in the morning, the flicker of the tiny lamps shining in the hutments and in the boats which is already set out for their work for the day or returning home in the evenings. This gives me immense happiness. Simply weaving stories how it would be to be living in those beautiful places which is melted so close into the nature.
Don’t ask me what paper I have painted this and when.

Family
I found the other painting. It was actually in my sketch diary, and I had not taken a snap of it, so I thought I have done it on a paper and searched the whole house(with little hope). Whenever I find something after a difficult search like this, I will always think I should keep in mind to look for the lost things first in the easiest place but always forget the rule.

I am TAGGED!
This is the first time I have been tagged. Deepa had put me thinking about my most unspectacular quirks. I took almost 2 days though. I asked J if he can mention some of my quirks. To be on the safer side he said “nah, you are not at all quirky”, but I am, I know that.
Here goes the rules for the game:
Here goes the rules for the game:
1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.
Here goes my unspectacular quirk:
1. I check and recheck if the iron box and gas knob is switched off several times before I leave home. Many a times I have returned home to check it.

2.I have to leave all the lights on in the house before I go to bed when J is not at home. Should I say or not, say or not….. let me tell you. I am scared of darkness and imagine ghosts in there. ( I preach my son there are no such things called monsters and I have not seen one in my life and why are you scared of all those imaginative stuff and so on…….). Poor chap thinks his mother is such a brave woman but only I know the truth, now you too.
3. There no single flight of stairs which I have used that I have not fallen down. I know you are laughing. This is not a hobby. I still cannot figure out how and why it happens to me. Very prone to (falling-down) accidents.
4.I can read any kind of books, get immersed in it and be oblivious of the surrounding. I am an otherwise active person who cannot rest in one place for more than 10 minutes but with a book I can sit for hours together.
5.I am very fond of grapes(any shape, taste, size, and color). I can never get enough of it. I can eat in kgs a day.

Lake Side
When I was in school I always got the first place for all the painting competitions held at school. I feel a tug of pain when I realize I do not have those paintings with me now. I did not have a camera to take a copy of it too. During those days I have reproduced many paintings from art books I found in my school and college library and also greeting cards I received. My friends used to make sure they give me a card with scenery in it. I used to gift my paintings to them and I am sure they still have them. This is one such painting I have reproduced from an art and painting book.

Spring
I started this blog thinking that I will have more of my craft work to show. J insisted that I am more inclined to painting than doing crafts for which I disagreed. Now J proved to be right. I have more for Sketch Diary than for Glass Beads. Here is another of my landscape from the diary. May be I will name it spring. I love when it is spring, lot of chirpy birds and flowers all around.

Flower Bunch
I have reproduced this painting from a greeting card I received many years ago. There is no artist name on it. Though the card looks very dull, a closer look at it you can see the beautiful butterflies on the flowers. This made me to paint it with some bright colors. I have used the same colors as it was on the card but brightened it up a bit.

My sketch diary
This is a book which I treasure dearly. It is a gift from my dear husband, J. I was not working when I just got married. To while away the time, I used to sketch or paint, and normally I will not like the sketch when I finish it and used to toss it in the dustbin. J wanted me to keep all the sketches I do, so he got this book for me so that I will not throw away my work.
So that is the story of my sketch diary.
Do you want to see what is there inside? Come along....
