DUSK

This is a usual scene you can see when you travel through Kerala by train. I love to see the silhouette during the late evenings and very early in the morning, the flicker of the tiny lamps shining in the hutments and in the boats which is already set out for their work for the day or returning home in the evenings. This gives me immense happiness. Simply weaving stories how it would be to be living in those beautiful places which is melted so close into the nature.

Don’t ask me what paper I have painted this and when.

White Hibiscus

This is a hibiscus from my grandmother's garden. The reference image is spotlessly white. I had to add some amount of pink, just to add depth and interest. I know it has lot of flaws, but I am leaving it at this point. I dare not do anything more on this white flower.

One winter morning

This is another scenery I stole from a greeting card. I have done this particular painting so many times. I just love this scene, may be because it suits my mood sometimes. Each time I have painted this, it has looked different.

Family

I found the other painting. It was actually in my sketch diary, and I had not taken a snap of it, so I thought I have done it on a paper and searched the whole house(with little hope). Whenever I find something after a difficult search like this, I will always think I should keep in mind to look for the lost things first in the easiest place but always forget the rule.

Black and White

I dont remember when I painted this. I think this was an inspiration after a program I saw in National Geographic Channel sometime back. I remember making two of this kind, I should search for the other painting.

I am TAGGED!

This is the first time I have been tagged. Deepa had put me thinking about my most unspectacular quirks. I took almost 2 days though. I asked J if he can mention some of my quirks. To be on the safer side he said “nah, you are not at all quirky”, but I am, I know that.

Here goes the rules for the game:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you

2. Mention the rules on your blog.

3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.

4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.

5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Here goes my unspectacular quirk:

1. I check and recheck if the iron box and gas knob is switched off several times before I leave home. Many a times I have returned home to check it.

2.I have to leave all the lights on in the house before I go to bed when J is not at home. Should I say or not, say or not….. let me tell you. I am scared of darkness and imagine ghosts in there. ( I preach my son there are no such things called monsters and I have not seen one in my life and why are you scared of all those imaginative stuff and so on…….). Poor chap thinks his mother is such a brave woman but only I know the truth, now you too.

3. There no single flight of stairs which I have used that I have not fallen down. I know you are laughing. This is not a hobby. I still cannot figure out how and why it happens to me. Very prone to (falling-down) accidents.

4.I can read any kind of books, get immersed in it and be oblivious of the surrounding. I am an otherwise active person who cannot rest in one place for more than 10 minutes but with a book I can sit for hours together.

5.I am very fond of grapes(any shape, taste, size, and color). I can never get enough of it. I can eat in kgs a day.

6.Oh how can I forget about my bead lust. Oh I collect them like mad. I have a huge collection of beads. I really do not use them but I love looking at it once in a while, especially when I am feeling low.

I am tagging Shillu and lubna. (breaking rules here, sorry)
